How can I help?

FAQ

How long does a cover take?

Most covers are completed within 6 weeks of booking. This includes your sketch approval stage, final artwork, and revisions.

If you need it faster, rush slots may be available (with an additional fee) — just let me know when you enquire.

How much does a cover cost?

I know that investing in original cover art is a big commitment. That’s why I keep my pricing clear and transparent, so you can feel confident before reaching out. I’ve created specific packages to suit different needs, with covers starting at $650 USD.

For full details on wraps, dust jackets, and series discounts, see my Packages & Pricing page.

Is typography included?

No — I focus on the illustration itself. Most authors bring in a typographer, designer, or publisher to set the text.

But don’t worry: I’ll coordinate with them so the artwork and typography flow seamlessly together.

Do I own the artwork?

Not exactly — I keep the copyright as the artist, but the artwork is made exclusively for your book and won’t ever be reused or resold.

You’re licensed to use it on:

  • Your book cover (print + ebook)
  • Marketing and promo (website, social media, ads, press, etc.)
  • Free swag (bookmarks, postcards, stickers, giveaway prints)

If you’d like to sell items featuring the artwork (merch, art prints, stationery, etc.), I can arrange a separate license.

So while I remain the copyright holder, your use of the cover is exclusive to your project.

Can I use the artwork for merch?

Your license covers your book cover, promotions, and free swag (bookmarks, stickers, prints).

For commercial merchandise (t-shirts, mugs, paid prints, etc.), a separate license is needed.

Can I cancel if I change my mind?

A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your slot and covers the initial work. Once we begin, payments are non-refundable, as they cover time and resources already invested.

This policy protects both of us and keeps the process fair.

If you’re unsure, let’s chat first to make sure we’re the right fit before booking.

How many revisions do I get?

You’ll have one round of feedback at the sketch & colour stage, and two small tweaks once the final artwork is complete.

This way, your vision shapes the piece, but the process stays clear and focused. If you’d like more rounds, we can arrange that for a flat fee.

How does payment work?

A 50% deposit (via Shopify) secures your slot.

The balance is due before I deliver the final files.

Do you offer discounts for series?

Yes. To keep your series visually consistent, I offer:

  • Book 2 — 10% off
  • Book 3 onward — 20% off

(Projects must be booked within 12 months, for the same author and series.)

Can you fit my publisher’s specs?

Yes. Before final artwork begins, we’ll confirm your printer’s or publisher’s trim, bleed, and spine measurements so the files fit perfectly.

I like to read the fine print. Is there somewhere I can see your full terms and conditions?

Absolutely. I keep everything transparent so you know exactly what to expect before we begin. You can read my full Terms & Conditions page anytime — it covers project scope, payments, revisions, licensing, and more.

Have you designed covers for real authors?

Yes — alongside thousands of art sales worldwide, I’ve worked directly with authors on bespoke cover commissions, as well as licensing my artwork internationally.

What if I don’t like the artwork?

That’s exactly why I build in clear checkpoints. You’ll see a sketch and colour palette early in the process, where you can give feedback and request one adjustment before I move to final artwork. Once the final illustration is complete, you’ll also have up to two small rounds of tweaks — so you’re never locked into something that doesn’t feel right.

My style is consistent (you can see it throughout my portfolio), so clients come to me because they resonate with that voice. If you love the work you see in my portfolio, chances are you’ll love what I create for your book. And if you need bigger changes after sketch approval, we’ll discuss a new quote so you’re always in control of the direction.

This is my first time commissioning a cover — will you guide me through the process?

Absolutely. I’ve built a clear, step-by-step process so you’ll always know what comes next. Most of my clients connect with my art on a personal level, which makes the collaboration feel natural and enjoyable. I’ll be here to guide you at every stage.

Still wondering about something?

I’m always happy to clarify before you commit.
