Public Art & Mural Commissions

Isa June is an Australian public artist based in Tasmania, creating site-specific murals and artworks that capture the heart of a place.

She begins by studying the details, character and everyday experiences that make each setting special. Through her signature use of bold colour and simplified hand-drawn forms, she honours each place while revealing a little magic in the everyday.

Shared Waters - Glenorchy War Memorial Pool

Glenorchy, Tasmania · 2026

Commissioned by Glenorchy City Council

Medium: Original hand-drawn digital artwork reproduced in printed vinyl
Setting: Exterior brick facades, entrance glazing and the exterior of the all-abilities change room.

Shared Waters explores the small rituals and memories of a public pool: the pause at the edge before entering, sunlight breaking into pattern, and the laughter and splashing of play.

Across the portholes, accessibility artwork and long ripple, these moments form one large watery rhythm. The work reflects the pool as an inclusive, intergenerational place, where separate experiences overlap with the same water.

Harmony Of Thought - St Marys District School

St Marys, Tasmania · 2023

Commissioned By Tasmanian Government Art Site Scheme

Medium: Hand-drawn digital artwork printed on vinyl
Setting: Interior sliding glass windows in the school's Manual Arts building

A student is immersed in an abstract landscape of local forest, mountain and eucalyptus leaves, reflecting the school's student-centred philosophy. Flowing shapes connect the figure with the surrounding landscape, while a playful hand gesture invites curiosity.

Transparent colour and solid forms are designed to overlap as the windows slide, creating shifting layers of landscape and light.
