How To Place An Order
For a step-by-step guide to the process, see my How To Order A Book Cover page. For quick answers to common questions about timelines, revisions, and file delivery, see my FAQ.
Terms
Booking & Agreement
- All projects require a signed written agreement before work begins. This agreement will outline the project scope, deliverables, timeline, payment schedule, revision policy, and usage license. It protects both parties and ensures we’re clear on every aspect of the commission.
Payment
-
50% non-refundable deposit to book, balance due on completion before delivery of final print-ready files.
- Once work has commenced, all payments made are non-refundable, as they cover time and resources already invested.
Typography
- Not included. I will coordinate with your chosen designer or publisher so artwork and text work seamlessly together.
Timeline
-
Standard delivery is up to 6 weeks from receipt of your completed brief and deposit.
-
Rush delivery available (+$250 USD, subject to availability)
-
Delivery dates are estimates and may be adjusted if there are delays in receiving client feedback or in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Any changes to the agreed schedule will be communicated promptly so we can agree on a revised timeline.
Prices
-
All prices listed are $USD
- (+$250 USD, subject to availability)
Sketch Approval
-
Within 10 working days of booking, you’ll receive a composition sketch and colour palette for approval before I begin final artwork.
Revisions
Your cover includes 1 round at sketch stage + up to 2 small tweaks at final stage
-
One round of feedback at the sketch & colour palette stage — for adjusting composition, layout, and overall tone.
-
Up to two small tweaks once the final artwork is complete — for minor adjustments such as colour balance, cropping, or small detail changes.
Significant changes requested after sketch approval may require a new quote. This process keeps the project moving smoothly while giving you clear opportunities to shape the final design.
Usage License
When you commission a cover, you receive a license to:
-
Use the artwork on your book cover in print and digital formats.
-
Use the artwork in related promotional materials (website, social media, ads, press kits, etc.).
-
Print the artwork on free giveaway items such as bookmarks, stickers, or prints.
This license is exclusive to your book. The artwork will not be sold, re-used, or appear as cover art for any other author or project.
A separate license is required for selling the artwork on commercial merchandise (e.g., t-shirts, mugs, paid art prints, stationery, etc.).
Copyright
- I retain full copyright.
- I retain the right to share the artwork in my portfolio and promotional
materials (such as my website, Pinterest, or social media), but I will
always confirm timing with you and only publish after your book's release.
File Formats
-
Standard delivery format is high-resolution JPG/TIFF/PDF suitable for print and web use. Additional or unusual formats may incur extra fees.
-
Final file dimensions (including trim, bleed, and spine where applicable) will be agreed upon before commencement of the final artwork to ensure compatibility with your publisher or printer’s specifications.
Time Zone & Communication
-
I am based in Australia (AEST). Please allow up to 1–2 business days for responses to emails.
- All communication is conducted via email to ensure a clear written record of discussions, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Non-Response & Cancellation
-
If the client fails to respond within 14 days at any stage of the project, the project will be placed on hold. After 30 days of inactivity, the project will be considered cancelled, with no refund of the deposit.
- If the client chooses to cancel the project after work has commenced, all payments made are non-refundable, as they cover time, resources, and work already completed.
