Everything I create is inspired by nature’s rhythms; the fluidity of water, the bloom of flowers, and the grounding patterns that bring balance and beauty to our lives. Recently, I completed a huge project that aligns with this same philosophy: bringing consistency and harmony to my entire printable art SHOP on ETSY.

A Massive Undertaking: Upgrading 660 Listings on Etsy and Beyond

When I first started offering digital artwork, my tools, skills, and knowledge of print sizing were still evolving. As my shop grew organically, I created pieces in a range of sizes from A4 to 16x24 inches, 24x36 inches, and even 40x60 inches. While each piece reflected a different stage in my journey, the result was a mismatched collection of print sizes that no longer aligned with my artistic vision and capabilities.

I knew something needed to change, but the sheer scale of the project, and the fact that it felt like a behind-the-scenes admin chore, made me put it off for years. However, with customer requests increasing for popular sizes like 5x7 inches, 50x70 cm, and square formats, and my growing frustration with digital clutter, I decided it was time to tackle it head-on.

By standardising every listing with 7 versatile size options, I’ve not only given my customers more framing and layout flexibility but also made my shop feel more cohesive, consistent, and professional; a reflection of where I am as an artist today.

Why This Project Mattered

This upgrade wasn’t just about organisation. It was about giving my customers more freedom. Now, every artwork comes with instant access to standard print sizes, making it easy to frame, display, or create gallery walls with ease.

By having these sizes ready, I’ve also reduced custom resizing requests, saving both me and my customers time. Each listing now feels like part of a thoughtful, unified collection.

The Process: One Task, All In

Initially, I tackled this project slowly, working on it in bits and pieces. I soon realised it could take me a year or two at that pace. So, I tried something new: committing all my working hours to this one task until it was done.

This approach wasn’t easy. I battled boredom, frustration, and self-doubt, wondering if the effort was worth it. But as I neared the finish line, I realised how much this project mattered, not just to my shop, but to me.

Projects often take 20-30% longer than we expect, and managing those expectations is difficult. It took me three weeks longer than I hoped but after 12 weeks of focused work, I’m proud to finally celebrate this milestone.

A Fresh Start: Clean Systems, Clean Folders, Clean Slate

One unexpected outcome was the chance to organise my digital world. I needed to keep download links active for current orders while updating new ones, creating temporary duplication. This led me to do a major digital cleanup, revamp my inventory spreadsheets, and streamline my storage system.

With everything in place, I can now move through my shop with clarity and ease. Each artwork has the same sizes, making it simpler to answer questions and manage listings. My SHOP feels aligned, professional, and manageable, and I feel a deep sense of accomplishment.

The Joy of Completion and Moving Forward

In the past, I’ve jumped from one task to the next without pausing to appreciate what I’d achieved. But this time, I’m taking a moment to reflect and celebrate before moving on to my next project. This means chocolate, journalling and a guilt free weekend of watching movies.

This journey has taught me the value of focused work and perseverance, and I plan to continue this one-project-at-a-time approach to see how it impacts my productivity and well-being.

Every step of this journey mirrors my artistic philosophy: slow, thoughtful creation with purpose and meaning. Just like my art, which invites people to pause, reflect, and connect, this project reminded me to embrace the process, not just the outcome.

Looking Ahead: A More Consistent, Customer-Friendly Experience

With this upgrade complete, I’m excited to explore new creative projects. I love knowing that my customers now have instant access to popular print sizes and that every listing reflects the same care and thoughtfulness I put into my art.

As I continue to experiment with one-task-at-a-time work, I hope to build a shop that flows as smoothly as the natural inspirations behind my designs; calm, meaningful, and beautifully organised.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support allows me to keep creating art that flows, blooms, and belongs.
